Ubports offers a nice infrastructure to get started with building/developing for UT.
What would it take to include the Nexus 7 2013 gsm version, device name "deb" here? There shouldn't really be any need for initial porting since the Nexus 7 2013 wifi version is supported by Canonical [1]. I heard that the hardware is basically the same. Also there already were community builds for deb in the past [2], but Tassadar, the author doesn't update them any more.
Also, the ubports image server actually has images for deb and the website lists the deb now as supported. I understand from a previous irc conversation that the image is based on the last one from Tassadar.
What would be needed to build for deb when starting off of the ubports git tree? Are there chances to follow the ubports activities to move to a newer android base?

@doniks , Oh wow, thanks for this information about the Nexus 7 2013 wifi. I have one that I have not used in many months. Time to get it out again : )
