Re: Installed Ubuntu Touch on my old neo with a new battery

I'm updated to version 9 but still the camera does not work is there a plan to fix it?

@bartc I don't think so. @Flohack mentioned something about the camera issue being difficult to sort out. I have a hoard of these devices and even with Samsung's bloated Android on this device has camera issues.

@mrt10001 The issue will not be fixed for 16.04. If it is revisited at all, it will be for 20.04, or even 22.04 (which will already be visible on the horizon once 20.04 lands)

@arubislander I doubt there will be the time to revisit it. Shame really as the device is compact and has an easily removable battery. UT looks great on it and most things work!

@arubislander Do you mean from Android or UT?

@mrt10001 either / both. They should be the same or similar enough not to matter much.

@mrt10001 I think 3.18 was the minimal version supporting all the needed systemd features for 20.04. But maybe they could be backported to 3.4 if anyone was up to the challenge.

@arubislander Unfortunately that is beyond me at the this moment in time (I went down the hardware route and following the schematics rather than programming which I dabbled in with machine code and BASIC)..😧
