Hello! I am completely new to all of this but I have a pixel 2 lying around and was also thinking about putting together a photoprism server so I can get rid of Google Photos. The hardware in the Pixel 2 is far better than in a raspberry pi and I also happen to already have one so I thought I could use a Samsung Dex Pad (like a USB 2-only dock that has charger input and 2x USB hosts) and connect to an external drive for storage.

But all of this is just theory. I have yet to try the Dex Pad (it is my understanding that the Pixel 2 is picky with usb hubs and prefers 2.0, thats why I chose that one), and yet to install UT. It is my understanding also that docker doesn't always work on these phones so I wanted to ask if there has been any success stories about it.

        Can anyone comment on this?

@macarelo if you want to use your phone as an always on server, then UT is not a good fit for your usecase.
PostmarketOS might be worth looking into.
