@debacle Usually you can change the maximum amperage during the charging. At least you can do with the original PinePhone. In the pinephone, the pmic (axp803) default is a limit of 1.5A from usb for charging. But you can change it:# echo 2500000 > /sys/class/power_supply/axp813-ac/input_current_limit # 2.5AMay be it's possible to increase on the PPP too.

Hello @Fla , Xenial was abandoned a long time ago, from what I see you didn't see that before being abandoned the file upload was working fine. A few months ago @Oren and others resurrected it but it's complicated and hands are missing. The latest thing they are doing is trying to make the image read-only and have OTA updates. A lot of things that worked on Xenial no longer work on Focal because it's like they started from scratch.

@arubislander Weird, I got the image at https://ci.ubports.com/job/rootfs/job/rootfs-pinephone-systemimage/ linked from https://gitlab.com/ubports/porting/community-ports/pinephone and it's the latest artifact. I did come across the proper link, but couldn't flash it because it was a .raw, so I disregarded it, didn't know you had to rename it. So glad I didn't spend another day going mad over this. It's working now! Thank you so muchhhhhhh!

@thepossessor With PMOS on sdcard and Manjaro on the emmc I tried many times to follow the pine64 hints to flash ANX but got no out put or responses to indicate anything was happening (turns out that's normal) so also followed the prompt to dmesg. And redirect to a file 'cos too difficult/laborious to look at on device. It wasn't working in that set up, so followed another guy's post to use mobian/phosh on on sdcard. No terminal output, but after a while dmesg output showed no errors or comments in the process right up to 'power down' or something. So it looked complete. I don't understand the tech stuff here but my main motivation in this is thinking that it will make usb connection possible to file manager on pc. Anyhow , after that I re-plugged the phone whilst still in mobian and and got connected to pc. Next: Flashed UT to emmc to see if if it would work there also, but no. Flashed mobian to emmc. usb connection to ubuntu on pc straightforward and easy. Just right for me! I'm not sure it was the ANX flashing that did it...but it's the first time after lots of mucking about that I can just connect to pc with usb and copy files , so ...

@ziggutas Many thanks for the explanation. Then I will stay on the RC and see when the Pinephone can be used as a daily driver. At the moment, with 6h battery life and other various problems, this is not given yet.

@3T_Ed said in Megapixel app for Pinephone: have it be an AppArmor confined app Humm, that's not possible at the moment . The camera app is unconfined for a reason and it's the same limitation for the video chat feature. Of course having a person fully dedicated to the one task of making camera experience better is a good idea. But the contribution from Pine64 (10$/PP Ubports CE) is not enough to hire a good engineer for a year. And, as I estimate, that will be roughly what is needed to focus on camera app only without the vast amount of work required for device specific issues with their camera...

@c0n57an71n Ok thanks. should have been more precise: in fact what I'm most interested in is whether the cellular data works, i.e. whether the internet works with SIM (doesn't work at all for me with SIM on the Volla at the moment, ok with wifi) : so it's the conf managing best the SIM APN and cellular data that I want to test.

@livanti21 When you enter your APN , then save it,---after you reboot ,and go back to check which APN is being used ,do you get a little box that you need to put a check mark or tick in ? The 2/3/4g part , I just moved on to the next item, I did not select any of them ( I was using Consumer Cellular,(att).

I got to the point where is asks for a password but won't accept my password. Word of caution: don't change your password from command line if you've enabled passcode - when you phone locks it only gives you a numpad to enter your password, not a keyboard.

@kugiigi Yeah, the dock works on Manjaro phosh for both usb mouse/keyboard and external display, so I know it's not the dock. I messed around with mounting the root filesystem as writable for a bit and apt installing a few things, as initially I was not able to get libertine to work, so I'm going to try flashing a fresh dev image and see if that helps at all.
