flyme 7 beta (chinese) meizu pro5
-
@marathon2422 Oh yeah, happened to me before as well.
Have you tried to flash back to 4.. a or is it a no go? So a new motherboard is needed then?!
If anyone is trying such a thing as upgrade the firmware, before flashing update.zip = this needs to be unpacked and bootloader file removed from the .zip file and repacked back. Otherwise you'll end up with locked bootloader and end of journey, as it might be impossible to unlock it again. -
not yet,using "yalp store"as google is blocked.recovery is changed,so you can connect and remove info ,if you trash the screen .
good job i am retired and have free time -
made it back,
downgraded with 5.1.20.A. off flyme.cn website
reflashed the one with the unlocked bootloader
,flashed TWRP , restored my backup 16.04 dev
flashed stock recovery, updated to latest Dev
phew !!!!! -
@marathon2422 Yeah, you were lucky. I bricked my Pro5 with flashing some ,,demo,, Flyme release, no a chance to flash anything else, no Chinese, no International, nothing. I thought that I might get a better network reception by flashing a new hardware, but end up bricking it.
Anyway, why did you try to flash Flyme 7 beta? To get bluetooth working? Or just curiosity, what's got Flyme to offer? -
@stefano
Sometimes i need the location service in Google maps so my wife can track me,for piece of mind.
While i am kayaking these Tennessee riversThe stable flyme. Cn 7 came out today.
I tried the beta, very slick, face reconition..
They changed recovery,so you can pull stuff via usb /PC.
and get into recovery when connect to PC,it opens a folder to put an update in,and flash like that.Some devices will no longer get a G version,the pro5 is one of them,
The G version apps are available on the forum.some would be nice in anbox
Dual booting would be nice, until the browsers get fixed,the Google + apps,are related to that
I have a copy of an uknown cn flyme version that has a scatter file or text in it ?. -

@advocatux
I checked it out,works well.
( unfortunately ) she likes to check on me,so its all the other way around. -
@marathon2422 yep, not tracking in UT devices (fortunately).
-
@advocatux
Yeah I know what you mean,in flyme 6,when I exited the g maps.,it did not track me.
Quick question for you, I wiped,scrubbed,and had 3.9g of Ubuntu user,after installing,
the browsers close on some pages/ Sites. and googl+ apps closing pages.
I hope its still being worked on -

Well, that's the thing with Android apps, you never know when they really stop tracking you.
I wiped,scrubbed,and had 3.9g of Ubuntu user,after installing
Yep, that's normal
the browsers close on some pages/ Sites. and googl+ apps closing pages.
We're moving to a new web engine (QtWebEngine). We'll have a better web experience when the transition is finished.
I hope its still being worked on
You can bet on it! Developers are working hard!!

@advocatux
You are right about the other Google apps,they keep track of you and,put the pieces of info back together later.
So much better soon,with good,email,browser,and so on,a lot of banking and that type of thing can be done thru a browser.
Keep up the good work,and thank you
