fastboot list no devices after installation of ubports

I recently installed ubuntu touch with the ubports installer at my fairphone 2.
Everything is working fine.
But when I now try to talk to my phone with adb or fastboot none of them show the device.
Where is the mistake?

I forgot:
I pressed volume down and power buttons. Now the screen is showing:
"Fairphone Powered by ubuntu .... Supported by ubports"

For adb to work, you need to enable USB debugging in the UT settings.

fastboot should work regardless. The only reason I ever came across for fastboot not to work was hardware, i.e. using a charge-only cable or broken USB port.
