I will post short development updates her as often as i can
-
Today i talked with awe form the canonical, and we found that qcom makes custom request messages, so i have to find them, and mach them on ubuntu/ofono.
-
I'm starting to see a light on the Ofono/rild problem, I now think i know what's the problem is, that oem (qcom) is needs a OEM_RAW request before RADIO_POWER.
-
I had exam this week, so i wasn't able to do anything....
I will now create a bug report for Ofono with as much logs and reports i can generate, I'm doing this because at the moment it's only[1] me that's working on this bug. The problem isn't that is hard to fix the bug, it's that i cannot find the bug. (The OEM_RAW bug that i was talking about didn't seem to be the issue)
Here are some logs if someone what to take a look:
Android rild requests before RADIO_POWER: http://paste.ubuntu.com/11569119/
Android log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/11569215/
Ofono log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/11569264/[1] The Ubuntu developers (awe and abeato) from the irc have been guiding and helping me along
-
I had a small break from Ofono to take a look at OTA, and i think i got it work properly now, some more testing now and i will upload a new version to the system-image server. more info coming soon...
-
I've been working on apparmor for a while, but I've found some errors they might be related to gcc. I've removed some packages which might be unneeded and let it fails. I'll let you know if it succeeds now
-
OTA now works, but there is a little bug that prevents the screen to display status updates while it's updating and it also seems like it does not auto-reboot after update.... This will be fixed in a later update, but for now i think i will push this updates to the system-image server. next up is multirom since i got the OTA server working and multirom requires a OTA server running. I will post some install instructions later today
-
OTA works now, mutirom looks like it works (need some testing), and Apparmor works i just patched the Apparmor3 into the kernel now, here is the new boot.img http://download.ubports.com/Ubuntu-Touch/OnePlus-One/dev/20150614/boot.img
Just flash it with fastboot and reboot and you can download apps
fastboot flash boot boot.img
-
Awesome to see that there's a lot of progress again. I can't wait to have multirom working!
-
I forgot to write how to use the ota server... but here you go:
THIS WILL WIPE YOUR PHONE AND ALL YOUR DATA!!!!!!! BACKUP FIRST OR WAIT TO THE MULTIROM VERSION IS COMING
- reboot to fastboot mode
- open terminal and copy paste this:
ubuntu-device-flash -v --server=http://system-image.ubports.com touch --channel=ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed --device=bacon --bootstrap
And status on multirom is, some problems with the recovery not installing correctly, I'm on the case, I do expect it to be an minor issue!
-
Good news!!
Multirom is now working! This is happy news right? You probably screaming "gimme gimme multirom right now!!" Yeah, i will give you it, but you need to know that this is really early version of ubuntu touch on the oneplus one, so stuff might be crashing, being slow, things might not work as they should or things might not work at all. well i should stop mumbling and give you the guide.
Here it is:

What's the status of the Ofono thing? I would highly enjoy mobile internet for services like Telegram. Actually, once that and the headphone jack is working, I would use it Adresse a daily driver.
-
Some news and updates:
We got a new shiny device page: https://devices.ubports.com/#/
so, can we get Ubuntu touch for the OnePlus Two soon after it's released? https://devices.ubports.com/#/op2
I also happy to say that i'm really close to done to fix the issue with rild/ofono! rild/ofono has been and hard task, but i now can see an end of the tunnel! I will try my best to get this working as fast as this or next week (if not any other issues appears)!!
And Thanks for all support from YOU guys
-
That sounds very well!
-
I'm very excited to see this fully working, I plan on sticking with my current phone until I can get a phone with Ubuntu touch and this looks like the most promising
-
Once this works as a daily driver, I'm switching directly to it. Please continue working on this and keep us updated!
-
Any development updates for the OPO? Is the project still alive?
-
@palradu ,
I think that can best be ascertained by looking at the bug reportsSo it would seem yes is the answer.
-
@apple.muncy Thanks for the reply and for the bug tracker link
In that case, since development is active, any updates on the missing components like camera and GPS, being added to the "working" list? I don't want an ETA (I know better, I've modded enough phones in my time with ROMS from XDA, to know not to ask for ETA's ), I'm just excited at the progress this project has made and I want to install it on my OPO Currently though, no camera and GPS (which I rely on daily), are a deal breaker to me
