pinephone: SMS 23 txt limit?

found that txt stops after 23 txts?
went into modem directly with minicom, and find that the old messages are not deleted?
manually removed with minicom and
AT+CMGD=0,1to remove them, and more come in (up to 23 again);
is there some setting in the txt app to clear old messages without going into minicom?
