Hi there! I want to use an audio application that needs to use jackd
I can stop PulseAudio with initctl stop pulseaudio but then I don't know how to start the jackd server.

I installed qjackd in a Libertine container, and the icon appears and can run it, but shows this error message:

D-BUS Service not available (org.jackaudio.service aka jackdbus).
Cannot connect to server socket err = File not found
Cannot connect to server request channel

Any clues how to go on starting qjackd ?

        Thanks in advance! 🙂

Not sure what device you're on, but ones that were originally Android devices aren't using ALSA.

Also, not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but jack probably won't work too well on a phone anyway.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I use an BQ Aquaris E4.5 , so as I can see in the documentation yes, it was originally an Android device (and so, not using ALSA).

I might be moving to another device to have ALSA support.

I guess Oneplus One, Nexus 5 or Pinephone are options, but how can I be sure that those device are using ALSA?

@emieza All devices that came with Android have to use the Android HAL via libhybris, and it does not provide access through traditional ALSA devices to Linux.

Why are you trying to run jackd on the phone anyway?
