PinePhone microphone very sensitive

When making phone calls the microphone is super sensitive, it's like the gain has been turned up. Even the slightest tap on the phone sounds like a hammer
I've tried a call from Manjaro Phosh installed on the SD card and I don't have the problem, so I don't think it's an issue with the hardware. Has anyone else noticed this, or know a way to adjust the gain on the microphone?I have even updated my PinePhone to the OTA-13 release and it's still the same issue.
Apologies if someone else has also posted this, I couldn't find a related one though.
