Automatic screen brightness regression?

The automatic screen brightness adaptation used to work fine on the OnePlus3, but since a few versions on the devchannel it seems to be broken.
Anything specific that was done there lately that could have caused this?

No but we opened https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/1747 and set it to critical RC, meaning that no new stable update can be released before its fixed. However, RC images will continue to be released every week, as the bug was already in RC when it was discovered.

Affect a lot of smartphones but doesn't affect the Volla on the newest RC (for me), so I guess all Hallium 9 devices are spared ?!
