I did a fresh install of ubuntu touch on a One Plus One. I then installed Emacs24 through Libtertine. When I run Emacs, it starts, but I don't get to see an onscreen keyboard, so I am not able to input any text. Is this a bug (because it sounds like https://askubuntu.com/questions/759598/ubuntu-touch-no-onscreen-keyboard-in-firefox)?

@johnnyplusone Yes, it is indeed a bug. Emacs may handle keyboard focus a little different than normal apps. Sadly, libertine especially xmir isn't much developed so I wouldn't hope it'll be fixed anytime soon. Maybe you can try installing a keyboard within libertine.

Maybe you can build a working Emacs with Crackle, https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6283/snap-crackle-and-pop-readwrite-rootfs-is-overrated

            VollaPhone22 (dual-boot of VollaOS and UT 20.04 OTA-9), Pocophone F1 (pmOS, edge), FLX1 (Debian)

@kugiigi Could you explain how that would work? Which app do you have in mind. I looked for keyboard apps and installed some, but this did not allow me to have a keyboard app up when emacs started.
