Fairphone 3/3+ (FP3/FP3+) Port - Halium 10
-
As to the mobile data issue:
On my device it works if I change the settings to 2G or 2G/3G.2G/3G/4G doesn't work.
So may be it's a 4G-Problem?
-
@muskist Did you experience that on a Fairphone 3 or a Fairphone 3+?
-
FP3
-
@muskist Ok, thanks. I'm using a Fairphone 3+ and changing to 2G doesn't make a difference.
-
Just for info: 2G data does not work on my FP3+
I will switch to /e/ os next week, because I must have some apps for charging my car.
I hope, that you will get it working -
Hey, with the latest build, mobile data should work now. At least for me
Best Regards. -
@Luksus Thank you so much! Works like a charm here. Still got to test if phone calls are working...
Anbox works, but installed apps have no internet connection. Does anybody found a solution for this?
Edit: just called 'the speaking clock'. Still works here -
@koens regarding Anbox: no solution yet.
I put this topic on hold, because I already tested the new Anbox-Halium on the FP3, which is so much smoother in any way, that it makes no sense for me, to invest more time into "old" Anbox.But: In new Anbox, there I did have no network too, and the latest version did not start (it is in heavy development), that is because I am just waiting until it is more stable, before I give it another try.
For those, who want to try it on the FP3: last time it also killed my audio, that I could not do calls anymore and I had to reflash system-image... you've been warned.

Anbox-Halium
All right, no problem there, i have patiece
I guess you will make a post here when it is more stable?Thanks for your time you put into this development!

@Luksus I'm having problems with the camera.
Don't know if it is FP3 issue or the fact that i'm using an SD card now.
When i take a picture I get an error that the camera can't store the image and that i have to reboot my device. Rebooting doesn't work. When i take a screenshot, i can't find it under the Screenshots directory.I've executed:
rmdir Pictures/ ln -s /media/phablet/FAIRPHONE/Pictures Pictures
So I have the symbolic link for Pictures and Screenshots in my home folder.
-
@koens mh, did you re-format your sdcard before using it?
And did you set the option to save to sdcard in your camera app?
Does it still complain, when you set the option back to "internal"?
What is the FAIRPHONE directory for? -
@Luksus
I followed some tutorual that recommended above steps.
I suppose by removing the Pictures directory the camera app could't find that dir anymore.
So i installed the os again and tried the camera: works perfectly on internal memero and on SD after changing the settings.
Just got to figure out now on how to save screenshots on SD, ... and a whole lot more stuff -
Hello,
Thank you for this port. I install it yesterday on fp3+ and mobile data, phone call, smms, mms, wifi and bluetooth work very well.
Even the sound is better and i can fine tune it, whereas on android i could increase it only by "big" step.Altor

Hi everyone!
I'm a new Fairphone 3+ owner and I'm thinking of trying out UT on it. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask so feel free to point me in the right direction otherwise:
- From what I understood and reading previous posts/comments, you can run Android apps on the device? In Sweden, we need an app to sign documents and banking apps. Apart from my LastPass, It would pretty much the 3 apps I'd say are necessary for me to fully use as a daily driver.
- Does wi-fi hotspot work?
- (Showing my inexperience here) I'm assuming it's possible to revert the OS back to Android later on?
- Lastly, I work in mobile game development. As an artist, so my development skills aren't the best but I'd gladly test things out and try to help here in any way if needed.
Cheers

I have tried to install the new anbox/waydroid on FP3 stable with halium 9.....I got the kernel errors....binder and so on.....where is the kernel to try the new anbox? Did i flash it with halium 10?
thanks
-
@fp2andfp3-user Hm, in the latest builds (Halium9/10), the kernel should already be patched... Did you use the latest one?
For Halium 9 (FP3), waydroid (anbox-halium) works with internet access. I am not sure, if still things are breaking.
For Halium 10 (FP3+), it currently does not work. -
@luksus ok thanks, i have latest stable....I will try again.

This post is deleted! -
@oden Hi,
yes, it is possible to run android apps, but as you can see, its currently not very easy to achive for the average user...
Also, if your preferred android apps are dependent on google play services, it may not work as exspected, though I was able to run "naviki", which depends on some google services.Hotspot works.
Video recording not.Yes you can revert back to android. Make sure that you backup your Android data, because your userdata partition needs to be formated when flashing Ubuntu Touch or when flasing Android again.
-
@luksus Thanks for the reply!
Yeah, I can see that installing Android apps might be an issue. But if WiFi hotspot works, I could use my work phone to access the banking app instead until it's easier to setup Android in UT.
Another silly question: is it possible to access files on the device if connected to a PC via USB? As a way to access the photos taken or adding music?
Thanks again!
