Installation failed

Hi all,
I recently got a refurbished MI A2. It came with Android 10.
I unlocked the boot loader and rooted it (thanks to XDA forum !). Then i tried to flash Ubuntu Touch.
The Ubuntu recovery was installed without any problem and operational. But the whole OS installation met an error. I choose "Ignore" but starting Ubuntu failed. Unfortunately I didn't noticed the exact error...
As it is my only phone which is supposed to replace my old GSM, I flashed the Xiaomi stock ROM. After some manipulations it worked again.Could Androïd 10 be the reason of the failure ?
BTW : after flashing the Xiaomi stock ROM, the device was only partially working : I couldn't install some applis (e.g. Firefox). It said : "External storage needed for appli". Even chrome failed, and magisk too. They repeatedly crashed... I couldn't find any reference to this error message on Internet, so today I managed to make a reset to factory settings and now it looks fully OK again...
But I'd like to succeed installing Ubuntu Touch !
Must I downgrade to Android 9 ? -
@francis I would suggest to downgrade to Android 9 indeed, as the UT port is based on Android 9 layer (Halium 9).

This is a matter of patience sometimes. Did you read instructions carefully on the devices site?:
https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/jasmine-sprout/Sometimes it can do the trick to repeat the installation, sometimes even several times..
In my case I didn't have to downgrade to android 9, but most of the cases it seems to be useful. Just try again, be patient and kind to yourself!
maybe you want to read reports in the forum first, there are always some good hints to find:
