Can I install ubports on Redmi 6A mobile phone? I'm asking this cos I could not find it in the supported devices list. Also if I can't install right away is there any chance that this device will be supported in near future. Or is there any workaround to somehow install?

For supported devices, you can head to https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/Your device is not supported yet. As such I'm moving this thread to the Off Topic category.

I have no idea
But I'd follow Nero's advice ; I don't even know if someone is working on a port of Ubuntu Touch for this device.Alternatively you can follow UBports on Twitter or Mastodon, maybe they'll publish something when new devices are supported.
Checking the list once every couple of month is not so tedious if you ask meCheers
