Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet can't actually be installed?

I bought the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet wi-fi version "SGP712JP" with no worries because of what it says here!
I excitedly booted up the android tablet that arrived and turned on developer mode, OEM unlock and USB debugging.
I downloaded the windows version of Ubports Intaller [ubports-installer_0.8.9-beta_win_x64.exe] and installed ubuntutouch, but the tablet is still dark and the blue LED is glowing.
The installation stops halfway and does not complete.Is the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet actually unsupported?

@yamanobe Are you absolutely sure that no error message? My device is stuck in a loop. You can hardly see it, because the message only lasts about 0.2 seconds. Possibly go into a dark room to see this message.
To see und read this I used a camera and recorded it.E:failed to mount/cache (Ivalid argument) E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_locale
Thus, unfortunately, I can't fall back on Android either. In any case, I have not yet found out how I would have to proceed to do this.

@z4tab
Boot with Power Button + Volume Down pushed into Fast Boot and then Flash the Stock Android ROM with the Tools that Sony provides for your Tablet ?! -
@z4tab
Today, I also got SGP771 and installed ubuntutouch!
As a result, I get the exact same error as you and it stops at the "adb is scanning fordevices" screen.
I think this is a bug, since both you and I have the same symptoms.
You need to report this somewhere and ask for support! -

You need to report this somewhere and ask for support!Please be specific :
- Did you succeed in running Ubuntu Touch on it or not ?!
- How did you try to install it ?
- What software did you use ?
For example : If you used the latest Ubuntu Touch Installer then it might be a good idea to try a older version, because there were some posts about the most recent version not beeing Stable enough!
Also : Maybe try to run/start ADB before you start with the process to see what is going on ??

@nero355 γThanks
The installation of ubuntu touch failed.
I used ubports-installer_0.8.9-beta_win_x64.exe
I used Flashtool because xperia can be unlocked by using Flashtool software.
I used Flashtool because xperia can be unlocked using Flashtool software. o Developer mode of tablet is ON. o OEM unlock and USB debugging are ON.
Is ubports-installer_0.8.9-beta too new? Is ubports-installer_0.8.9-beta newer or should it be older?
Is the run/start ADB the result of running in power shel?Do I need to install TWRP on the tablet before running ubports by any chance?

OEM unlock and USB debugging are ON.Sounds good!
I just have no idea what Flashtool is : Sony specific tool ?

Please just try going back one or two versions and if that doesn't work perhaps a couple of versions more, because there were some issues mentioned with the latest version
Is the run/start ADB the result of running in power shell?
Don't know about Power Shell in Windows to be honest...
I only use these two for ADB commands :
- Command Prompt in Windows 7
- Terminal & Bash in Kubuntu 20.04 LTS
Do I need to install TWRP on the tablet before running ubports by any chance?
As far as I know you don't need to, because Ubuntu Touch will flash it's own Recovery version!

Were you able to successfully launch the edl-mode?

Did anybody solve this issue?

Hi @aiwo
This is an old post and the OP is inactive for more than 6 months.
If you have this issue you might want to consider creating a new post instead. -
@applee I'm still here and waiting for substantive replies .....

@z4tab
Glad to see it and thanks for the help so far.I was referring to yamanobe, the original poster that may or may not have fixed their issue.
