Halium 9 / CI + OTA build
-
@totalrando Ok, so now that I am back to feeling adventurous, what is the first step to making sure that I install UBPorts on the correct (empty) slot, leaving LOS 16 in its place right now? Since I have the T-Mobile edition, I would think that it will pull the the SIM data from from the single SIM slot (It does still have A/B however.)

@TotalRando
Start in fastboot mode and runfastboot getvar all
from your host and look forcurrent-slot
. It will be either a or bEDIT:
fastboot getvar current-slot
may be easier.Then use
fastboot --set-active=a
orfastboot --set-active=b
to set the active slot to the opposite slot as you found it currently was set. Then follow the instructions for installing UT and it will install to the slot you just set.EDIT: The latest UBports Blog mentions that Lineage encrypts the home directory by default which means you will not be able to share data between OS's and it could cause other unknown issues.

@antidroid Thanks for your help. In perhaps the worst possible way for this story to end, I lost my beloved Fajita in a Walmart a week and a half ago. Despite attempts to call and leave information to get it back, I fear, sadly, that the phone is lost. But it's definitely worth the experience to give it a try!

Hi, there has been any progress in this port? Thank you!

Hello guys! I installed latest OTA from system-image server and it have no any bug. It have random reboots on suspend mode, but I modified kernel (Nuked CONFIG_PM_AUTOSLEEP=y) and now, system have no any bug. Official OTA's is now stable!!!

Wow, let's hope 6/6T can make it's way into ubports installer

@opaijavai Hello! https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6446/oneplus-6-6t-installer-config

First moments with UT on 6T.
The installation process with ubports installer runs well.
Phone rebooted one time on standby. I've to struggle to pass the warning unlock bootloader message but managed to get it back to UT.
So far I'd say it's impressive port. Camera works both photo and video.
Phone calls not tested yet
EDIT 1:
I can't poweroff the device, it keeps booting and can't enter fastboot mode. Even if I type sudo poweroff on terminal. The screen shuts but after a minute or so, it boots to the warning message of the unlocked bootloader.
Perhaps I've to let it drain the battery ?
EDIT 2:
So, the only way I managed to poweroff the device was using the terminal and type: sudo poweroff
During the period, I was able to make calls on slot 2 (only)
So I went back to android for the time being, need to use windows and msmTool to fix the softBrick
NOTE: Don't use stable channel meanwhile. Go for devel or RC

OpenStore no longer links to switch-my-slot nor allows me to install it, claiming that it isn't a "valid click package". It also hasn't been updated since march. Any advice on this, especially on slot changes, other than a github issue? Such a capability would be really useful for me :).

@antidroid said in Halium 9 / CI + OTA build:
So the XDA page for the official LOS 16 Oneplus 6T build release points to the files on the Official Lineage OS sites download page for the Fajita which only has Lineage 17.1 builds.
On their FAQ it says this
We donβt keep building, or keep builds around for any version older than 2 Android versions (e.g. when 18.1 builds started, 16.0 builds stopped and the builds were slowly removed,
So we need an OS that you can no longer get unless you build it yourself or trust some shady download portal someone has uploaded the files to before they were scrubbed from the official server. Just to flash it before flashing a test build of UT.
I feel your pain and it's indeed VERY ANNOYING when you are messing around with ROM's that need the LineageOS 16.x version as base!
I had to wait weeks before someone uploaded LineageOS 16.x for the Xiaomi 9T (Davinci) for example...
I may try flashing it over Oxygen just to see and if it fails I will run Postmarket until there is a proper install-able version of UT.
Often the latest Android 9 Stock ROM of the same phone works too, but with some glitches/bugs so that's a good idea!
Anyways...
Could you please tell me more about your PostmarketOS experience on the OnePlus 6T ?
That sounds VERY interesting!
