Hello! I hear often, when you talk about updates and news, that you say this and that is related to Android 9 devices (or 8 or whatever).
This confuses me, as i thought UBTouch is independent system, why is it based on what android my phone has/had? Could you light me up a little? -
Hi! I heard some rumors about Marius having lomiri running on debian. Can you give some info about that?
thank you -
How much do you guys work together or at least communicate about certain stuff with the Jolla Sailfish developers ?
I try to read about both OS as much as possible and sometimes I see some people mentioning that certain parts are used in both OS like for example oFono when it comes to VoLTE/MMS/some other stuff

They require drivers extracted from the original Android installation in order for UB to be compatible with the phones hardware such as the screen, camera etc.
I'm not 100% sure but I'm assuming this is the case and that maybe something has changed with newer versions of Android. Someone more experienced may be able to chime in.

Following on https://blog.brixit.nl/why-installers-are-needed-for-fde/
As there is a UBPorts installer available, what would be the effort to support encryption of user data on supported devices/kernel?
Thanks in advance -
just one question! (kind of strange comming from me)
I know that there is Hallium 10 and 9.
Hallium 9 is the most supported in phones to install ubuntu touch; however, once Hallium 10 can be supported completely . .
The users that have phones with Ubuntu Touch and installed with Hallium 9. The phones with Hallium 10 have more features, or it doesn't matter if I already have Ubuntu touch since Hallium 9? We don't have to upgrade to Hallium 10 first, right? We are good with hallium 9.

@majesticfudgie Yyyyess, and for my understating is mostly because drivers in most android phones blobs are closed source, the only way to make them work is getting those blobs to work in UT. As far as I remember/understand.

Hi,
While browsing the system information I came across this page, see picture below.
I wrote my questions right into it:
In addition, these questions:- Is it possible that all image files could receive an update?
- Would this happen automatically?
- If manually, how would one have to proceed?
- Also, is there a history list for all 3 columns?
Many thanks and best regards

As far as I remember/understand.Actually it's something that applies to Linux in general :
- AMD/Intel/Nvidia/etc. driver installed or available in the Linux Kernel.
- Binary (Firmware) Blobs for the specific device added on top of that so the device actually works!

@ubportsnews Would You be so kind and explain a little the affection of Daltons departure on the current projects and developments? I am not shure that I have understood enough of the structure of the different teams and so on... So it feels like an earthquake - is it one?
