Installing Another OP5
-
Just a quick note to say how things have changed and what you forget. Have just installed another OP5 and had forgotten read the installer does everything now.
So after redownloading twrp files checking adb install and not getting twrp to load I though stuff it and just tried the installer and everything done. No need to do anything except reconnect the cable due to lost connection once but thats nothing is it really. Quick restart and done. Still get that slight feeling of dread when it takes time booting into UT from the android OP screen but yes it did (oh me of little faith). Something to look forward to now setting up another UT phone. -
@lakotaubp I flashed my second OP5t lately, and I did do the TWRP dance. I tried it without first, but the installer told me I had to format with TWRP first, so I did. Is it so different from the OP5 in this respect?
Or could I have flashed it without installing TWRP first? -
@moem I started trying to install twrp but it wouldn't so I thouht stuff it and just tried. I got that message to but just carried on and then got a you need twrp it will be sideloaded and just kept going and there it was. It did loose the connection but twrp was installed and the rest was easy. If you need to do another I would just go for it with the installer.
Can't see me doing another OP5 now. In fact it might be time to let some of the other phones I have go to a better home. -

You rebel, you. Well, I did know it's possible that the installer sideloads TWRP. It does so for the OP3 port.
So basically, the port for the OP5(t) is even better than the installer knows!Really, it's a VERY nice port. All I can think of that it doesn't have yet is the UBports boot logo. That would be the cherry on top of this delicious cake.
Even the hardware button to put the phone in silent mode works! -
@moem Yes I like that silent button. Would in one way like to check the installer twrp process again just to see if the notification process is clear that the installer does indeed install TWRP and that I didn't miss it because I've done this before.

@lakotaubp Well, it clearly told me just this weekend that I did need to install and use TWRP manually. So it sounds like the instructions inside the installer are running a bit behind the awesome reality.
