Linphone App Now In OpenStore
UBports News Channel, [02.10.18 01:03]
Hey there, UBports! We just heard a little secret......Someone said that Linphone has just landed in the Open Store.
It's Ubuntu Touch's very first dedicated SIP app which allows VOIP calling - now!
In fact, you can even use it to make regular telephone calls, too!You can create a free account -right in the app - and start calling other Ubuntu Touch users and anyone else who can use the famous Linphone software and services.
Join the party and keep up the good work!
Special thanks to @cibersheep and @bhdouglass for all the endless hours of work on this app.

RE: Ubuntu on Huawei devices?
I refer once again to what has already been stated by Florian
[Forwarded from Florian Leeber]
I am fully against any cooperation with Huawei sorry to say. As I said yesterday in the supergroup: No we wont ask for this. Huawei is in a very political discussion and the foundation needs to stay neutral. We will not endorse, recommend any or cooperate with companies that are under the impression of political influence.I think that really puts an end to this thread so am going to lock it. There is always Off Topic if needed.

RE: Failed update from latest rc 97 to dev 1927 today
@marius-ciclistu Try swiping right on it and then delete. Other than that just ignore it. If you go back to normal Dev you will just download the latest anyway.

RE: Failed update from latest rc 97 to dev 1927 today
@marius-ciclistu The halium update should bring improvements to how the OPO works and give it a better future. It's well worth a try.

RE: Failed update from latest rc 97 to dev 1927 today
@marius-ciclistu Personally I would give this a go https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6012/halium-7-1-test-channel/36 works very well on mine. You can always change to another update channel in the normal way via system settings.
-
RE: The camera-app is crashing!
@RobTheBold JFI the camera is fully working, flash and zoom on the halium dev channel for the OPO https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6012/halium-7-1-test-channel/36 and I have not found any other major issues except sensors coming and going (as ever), but the choice is yours.

RE: Failed update from latest rc 97 to dev 1927 today
@marius-ciclistu You can put the OPO in Fastboot before you start the the installer and go from there, but it does need to be in fastboot before you hit continue.
-
RE: Failed update from latest rc 97 to dev 1927 today
@marius-ciclistu Your OPO needs to be fastboot for the first part if the installer does not do it it's volume up and power buttons held together. It needs to be in fastboot to install the recovery. After that you need to be in Recovery for the rest (volume and power down held together).

RE: Failed update from latest rc 97 to dev 1927 today
@marius-ciclistu Sometimes powering off and restarting will fix it. It should reboot back into the "old" channel normally if the update fails. If not use the installer and DO NOT choose the wipe option.
Edit: make sure the battery is not low on charge also. -
RE: Halium 7.1 Test Channel
@flohack Update 78 and two restarts after install sensors are back. JFI

RE: Android apps converter. Crazy talk ?
@marek_python The only other option really at present is to carry an android device without sim and only the apps you have to have on it. Then only switch on when needed and use wifi. You can run Orbot as a device wide vpn and maybe a tor browser too, but not really needed. Plenty of stuff on Fdroid.
Not ideal but might work. Or if for test and trace just say your phone doesnt work with it and ask to sign in. -
RE: Privileged ICE contacts and medical information available on lockscreen [WORK IN PROGRESS]
@3t_ed I stand corrected, knew I'd seen it somewhere though.
