unknown battery level
-
Hi, I don't have the battery level, it always stays at 100% and doesn't seem to charge (the charger doesn't heat up) even though it says charging. And when I put it in recovry, it says 110%.
With UBports installer I installed the RC, then the devel, after I put back android 9, tried to recalibrate the battery, put back UT devel but it's still the same, I also tried to disconnect the battery from the tablet.
Do you have a solution? -
@freeinside So it also does not drop, if you let it just run two days without beeing connected to any charger?
-
@luksus Without a charger plugged in, and the screen on for several hours, the battery level does not change, it stays at 100%.
The first time I installed UT the battery was charged to 100% (on android), and the second time to test I installed UT at 80% (on android), but UT still puts me at 100%.
I didn't try to drain the battery completely on UT because it doesn't seem to be fully functional (Offline charging) and in addition the charger does not heat up when it is connected to the tablet even if it is "charging" -
@freeinside which device model do you have exactly, X605F/L 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB ?
-
@luksus Sorry X605L 3GB/32GB
-
@freeinside Do you know how "old" the Android version was, which was installed before?
-
@luksus it is used, when I received it I updated it to the latest version available (September 2020), and the second time when I put it back on android I got it back here : https://gitlab.com/ubports/porting/community-ports/android9/lenovo-tab-m10-fhd/lenovo-x605#install
I checked it was the same version -
@freeinside could you please open the terminal app, execute the command
upower -d
end post the output in here (wrapped in a code block: ```code text``` ).And regarding recovery: It's already the UBports recovery I assume?

Yes, and the recovery tells me 110%
@luksus said in unknown battery level:
But after that, you did install UT using the UBports installer?
Yes, the 0.8.8 in .deb
Sorry the command output is long, and the site does not want to send it at once, it says it is a spam, and I can not send several posts in a row
-
I don't know if this helps but when I recalibrated the battery when I came back to android, there was a shift in the percentage between the tablet turned off while charging and the tablet turned on without a charger, but after doing the battery recalibration 3 times (100% -> 0% -> 100%) it seemed to be fine

@freeinside was the power adapter plugged in, while executing the upower command?
Which channel did you install ( devel,rc) ?

No

Devel
-
@freeinside So your overall setup looks ok to me.
But your battery is not reporting the same as mine does, see the battery_bms and battery_battery outputs:

Did you check the "bootstrap" option in the installer?
-
@luksus yes it doesn't communicate properly with UT, and it doesn't seem to be charging with UT either, it's strange
@luksus said in unknown battery level:

yes, it was checked
-
If I redo the command with the charger plugged in, could it help you?
-
The battery is charging from the command output, but probably very slowly because for UT it's at 100% but the battery icon is green, so it's finishing charging (like on my OPO) that's why the charger doesn't heat up, but at this speed it's going to take me a few days to fully charge it, but not sure if UT is seeing the real full charge either

For you it would be the battery that is at fault? even if on android it works
