I'm up and running on the Nexus 5 but my Ting Data isn't working. It's connected to Ting for calls and it says 4G but it's not pulling data. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm on devel_rc-proposed

Hello,
I am in the same case, did you find a solution?
But if you choose, channel "stable", the 4G connection will work but this version of ubuntu touch is not stable (problem when you launch applications like Music ...)
Best regards -
I haven't found a solution yet. Interestingly the Bluetooth started working last night so that is an improvement. I will try "stable" and see if I can get data. Thanks for the advice.

Just for information, to get updates, I used the usual sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade commands in Terminal (that I installed), then in the system settings you run the update check, Download and install.
Best regards -
I've flashed "Stable" if you could call it that. Good news is my Ting Data is working perfectly, bad news is that a lot of apps keep crashing. "Stable" is nowhere near as "Stable" as rc_proposed. I'll still have fun with it while waiting for an update. Thanks again for the help.

Hi !
If you want to have a quite good Ubuntu install stable 10 works good -
Hello,
Where do you find that stable 10?
It does not exist here: http://system-image.ubports.com/ubuntu-touch/Best regards

@allaoua said in Nexus 5 Ting Data Not Working:
Hello,
Where do you find that stable 10?
It does not exist here: http://system-image.ubports.com/ubuntu-touch/I don't have a N5, and I haven't tried, but I guess it would be:
ubuntu-device-flash --server=http://system-image.ubports.com touch --device=hammerhead --channel=ubuntu-touch/stable --revision=10
-
Hello,
I have installed version 10 of "stable" by doing:sudo ubuntu-device-flash --server=http://system-image.ubports.com touch --channel=ubuntu-touch/stable --revision=10 --device=hammerhead --bootstrap
And it works well, applications work well and I have the cellular data
Best regards

Hi @allaoua
I am on devel_rc-proposed and everything works fine except data. I was thinking about changing to stable 10 as you propose here but I've got a question. Do I have to come back to Android again? T_T It was a really pain to get UTouch in my Nexus5 and I don't know if it's worthy. Can I switch from devel_rc-proposed to stable 10 directly?
Thank you very much.

Hi @alvarogr91
Yes absolutely, you can switch from a UTouch to another UTouch, that's what I did.
But, do not update your system once installed, the latest version (r13) is not stable !!
Finally I just want to point out that I could not take videos with the camera of the nexus 5, the camera application is not totally stable on the r10 version (works for photo but not for video!).Best regards

Hi again @allaoua and thanks for your quick answer. I think I prefer data over video so I'll give it a try

Hi everybody:
I just want to share my experience with this issue today. Following the advice of @allaoua (who also helped me with this problem) I switched from devel_rc-proposed to stable 10 channel and finally I could make data work. The other problem (battery display) has also been rapaired by doing so although, as allaoua said, video isn't working but I don't really care because I can't even remember the last time a used it.
I hope this can help.
Best regards for everyone and keep going.
