Try reinstalling using the UT installer and tick the "Wipe Data" box.

@mrt10001 wiped it in every way I could think of and all I noticed is that it says erasing userdata... and its telling me to enter recovery mode at the same time. maybe its not wiping correctly or maybe it takes hours to wipe... in the end it always boots to google, then installing update with the blinking ubports robot, reboots again to an infinite google screen. I tried formatting both A & B, twrp, downgrades etc... same result.

@jay-ajit-mate Sorry but this not my issue I don't have a Pixel 2. All I can say is follow the installer instructions select all the wipe bootstrapping options and go from there and use the link above. The people there will probably have seen this issue before and know how to fix it.

@lakotaubp didn't intend to reply to you, my bad. The question was for the original poster. I've been able to install ubtouch on my Nexus 5 but have failed to install the same on the Pixel repeatedly , the installer either fails to format userdata or whilst mounting partitions.

@jay-ajit-mate Try this out. Usually an install failure at the data stage is an encrypted data partition.

@mrt10001 thanks for your response. Ill post here again when i try this out although i believe it may have something to do with the choice of port as well. (USB 2 vs 3)
