Phone won't even boot
-
I restarted my Nexus5, Ubuntu touch phone. Thinking I was helping matters, I "installed Ubuntu from .zip. Now my phone won't even boot up at all. Could someone please walk me through the steps to get my Ubuntu touch phone up and running again? I would be truly grateful. I will pay if I need to, to help me to get up and running again. Thank you for your help, Respectfully, -jt

Try these steps:
Plug your phone into power and see if you get any blinking LED (attempting to install UT may have drained the battery). If it shows the battery icon charging, good, leave it to charge to over 80%.
The next step is to install the Ubuntu Touch installer to your PC, or if you don't have one, you will need a PC or laptop to install - it is unwise to try installing UT from a zip file.
Once all these steps are done, attach the phone to the computer running Ubuntu Touch installer and follow the instructions in the installer. -

@mrt10001 thank you sincerely for walking me through those steps. I do not have a computer just yet, but one on the way. If it's not asking too much, where do I get the Ubuntu installer for this nexus5? I am such a rookie please forgive me. But I have the will power of 10 men when it comes to learning about computer programming/engineering. I'm just not that smart. So thank you again for taking the time to guide with what I already tried. Respectfully- jason

@jtjtjt170 You can get it from here https://github.com/ubports/ubports-installer About halfway down the page are the down load options.
Download the version for your PC install the installer version for it. Start the installer and choose your device from the list and follow all the instructions as you go. You will also need to install adb and fastboot tools. A websearch will tell you how for your Pc/laptop OS. Any problems just pop back and ask. -

I have only ever gotten it from https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/
Is there a difference? -
@moem No don't think so, but I only really use the devices page as a reference point for devices. I just tend to have that page open. The installer should be exactly the same.
