@lakotaubp idk if it is a global Focal issue, but got to "forget this network" to be able to connect again on FP4

@lduboeuf Seems ok on OP5 reinstalling on 3a now so will let you know on that.
Really annoying having to go back to google to install UT updates again. Hope it's just mine. Still early days will be sorted soon no doubt.

@lakotaubp maybe the version you were on didn't include the fix yet. It has been working for me for the past three days, so now it should also work for you.
If not the difference might be due to the way it is installed. This time around I had 16.04 installed then rannit through the installer for 20.04, deselecting both wipe and bootstrap.

@arubislander Coming from google and installing 20.04 still it dies not update correctly just tried with 386 and 387 boots only to recovery.
Will try installing 16.04 stable then 20.04 see if that solves it. Need to find the answer to this.
EDIT tried on windows and Ubuntu and it will not install anything after a failed update, will not boot past fastboot. That is with 16.04 and 20.04.
Edit checked again and something is getting confused trying to reinstall 16.04 or 20.04 results in fastboot with the reason given as no valid slot to boot. The only way I can fix this is by installing android again then around we go. Really hope this is only me doing something daft and not affecting others.

I don't think you are doing anything daft, but I have been consistently able to switch between 16.04 and 20.04 with the installer without needing to reflash android on my 3a.

@arubislander Installed stable 16.04 from android, it will not then go to 20.04. I am not checking wibe or bootstrap this time. Now changing from 16.04 stable to devel to see if that works.
Edit: That worked so then installed 20.04 again so lets see what happens now.

                                Hi @Lakotaubp
Do you know if we have to reinstall the phone to make the updates go through automatic and not end up in recovey? I tried to update the phone just now, update version 387, and it ended up in recovery. I am on a clean 20.04 install and not through 16.04.

@rondarius That is the issue I keep getting. You can try the installer, it should work but it does not always work for me, see comments above. @arubislander has it working as it should but I will test again tomorrow on the next update.
Edit:Will post back here as soon as I know so maybe hang on to see if tomorrows update works as it should.

@lakotaubp so you had installed 20.04 over 16.04 with no wipe and no bootstrap?

@arubislander Needed bootstrap it would not do anything without that. As to why no idea. Everything was wiped to install 16.04. Lets see what the next update does.

I don't see how to install 20.04. I'm running 16.04 on my Pixel 3a. I downloaded the latest installer from the usual place. The channel pulldown in the installer only has 16.04 choices. How do I get to the hidden choice for 20.04? Thanks!

EDIT: never mind. I see the Settings menu in the installer, to allow hidden channels.

Install went well. I have a lot of trouble with the USB connection to my Ubuntu 22.10 laptop, but after that, the install was a success. I couldn't get a login to OPEN-CUTS working, so I hope it was reported correctly from the installer.
