Camera app hanging....

Has anyone got issues with the Google Pixel 3a camera app hanging, i.e. it doesn't open at all, just hangs with the rolling circle at start up. I have removed and reinstalled the app.
This has happened after the upgrade to OTA-24 on 16.04.

I can confirm this.
After upgrading to OTA-24, the camera shows a revolving circle and stays like that.
I also had tried to reinstall the camera app, but that did not fix the problem.
My phone is a Pixel 3a. -

I don't think this is Pixel specific problem. I am experiencing this on Fairphone 3 as well. In random pattern there are 3 things that happen:
- camera app starts normally
- camera app complains about not having permissions
- can be solved by simply restarting app and everything works then
- camera app hangs on black screen after ending splash screen and needs to be ended
- after that whenever I try to start camera app it hangs on splash screen with it forever loading

Seemed to have resolved itself? However, upgraded to the RC of 20.04 and camera works fine. Battery life still poor (but that may be my device).
