Focal on Xperia X
-
I saw the xperia x listed as a supported device here and instantly jumped to flashing, but after many tries from both the installer (ubports on desktop) and the built in update system in xenial It never worked.
Is there something i overlooked?
It always says "Update failed, please reboot and try again..." after wich it only boots into ubports recovery.
Would there be some kind of way to enable verbose logging or a log file i can access to see whats going wrong.
PC is running ubuntu 22.04 and im on the UBports 0.9.8-beta installer.
Phone does boot into xenial fine and works like a charm but i would really want to check out the waydroid compatibility. Thanks in advance

XperiaX is not ready for 20.04 yet, see the blogpost: https://ubports.com/blog/ubports-news-1/post/ubuntu-touch-ota-1-focal-release-3888
It might take some more times

I flashed mine to Focal on the dev channel yesterday, and hurray, it boots!
It is not reporting its battery charge level correctly... it's telling me that it's empty, when it is in fact 100% full. But that's a detail and this is a dev build. So far, so good.

@Moem What version of the Xperia X are you running? did you do anything prior to flashing (anything special)?

Sorry, I don't understand what you are asking. It's F5121, I think... in case that's what you mean.
did you do anything prior to flashing (anything special)?
No. Just normal flashing.
-
@Moem sorry about the confusion, yes i indeed ment the F5121 or F5122, also what region is your xperia x? mine is a european on. maby that could cause some diffirence.
Also what version did you use of the ubports installer?
Also a general question where can i find any log file of the failed flash on the device itself and how do i access it? -

Sorry, again I have no idea!

I think the difference is that the porter found and fixed a problem. Have you tried it yet since I posted?
Also what version did you use of the ubports installer?
I used 9.10.

@Moem Wierd i tried the 0.9.10-beta installer and still have the same issue.
is there another release im not aware of?
I downloaded the installer via the snap store and im on ubuntu 23.04. -
@blackwizard_BE You can try appimage instead of snap, that sometimes helps afaik.
-
@messayisto didn't fix the issue i do however have a checksum mismatch in the sw_binaries file but i am able to flash xenial with it so i think its just a software bug seeing as there is someone with the exact same issue on github

-
@Moem ngl i want to send the charles leclerc "i am stupid" meme, somehow i forgot to turn on hidden channels.
Sorry for the inconvenience everyone, it flashed fine now, don't know how i overlooked the button. -
@blackwizard_BE Glad that you found the problem in the end!
