Oneplus 5T wont boot after "update"

@marc123454321 Reinstall UT using a pc and the installer. Make sure the Wipe Data box is unticked and you select the correct version of UT that you want to install ie 16.04 or 20.04.
There has been an issue with OTA-25 if you are on 16.04 for not booting correctly which should have resolved.
If you are not on 20.04 stable some of the releases will cause this.
As the device is your daily driver, ensure you stay on stable.

Hey,
thanks for your response.
Since there seems to be a problem with OTA25 is there any recommended version to use?Marc

@marc123454321 see my above edit. The issue with OTA-25 should be resolved now.

I reinstalled at devel channel
There's no need to use devel, the fix has reached the stable channel by now.

I have Oneplus 5T on stable and I have no issues with it... Should I install this latest released OTA that is reported here in this thread to cause the non-booting problem?

No, I would advise installing the one released even more recently, because that one fixes the non-booting problem.

@Moem Yes, I'm talking about this last one - the most recently released - at least that is what I understand from this topic, that it is this one - the most recently released - that caused the non-boot problem for @marc123454321 - he started this topic 21h ago saying that he received the notification for the new update. I still haven't received this last update yet but I wonder if it's safe to install it once I receive it.

Hmm, good point. In that case I'm not sure. All I know is that the problem exists but devs have released a new version of OTA25 to address it.

@mihael Hey Mihael,
I changed back to stable one day later and everything was fine.
I saw afterwards that the problem is well known and should be fixed as far as I know.Greetings Marc

Problem is indeed fixed, but, on device updater, anyone that updated to the first stable broken OTA-25 will not be able to see the fixed OTA-25 as they have the same name. The workaround is to switch RC, update, and then rollback to stable.

@Keneda Am having this issue with my OnePlus One. Even tried the RC and stays stuck on boot. Have had to reinstall the OS without the data wipe to recover...
