Phone drop call...
-
Hi,
My pixel 3a drop the call after 3 or 4 rings or after 8 secondes maximum in a conversation.
Everything else works, MMS, internet...I started with the right android version and the installation works perfectly with the installer.
I revert back to Android stock ROM to check and it's exactly the same.
I have the feeling that I mess up with the first downgrade to android 9 cause I tried with TWRP and made something wrong ( maybe with slot A/B ) and the phone didn't start at all, I finally done it very easily with Android flash tool through Chrome.
Now the installation of Ubuntu touch (with installer) and the android 9 works well ( done many time...) but same probleme. In fastboot mode ( with android 9 ) I tried many command to check few things.
I manage to change the slot to boot it in A or B for example, but if I want to boot with TWRP in order to flash the recovery to install everything on both slot, I have the return command(bootloader) boot.img missing Cmdline or Osversionwhen I try to dofastboot boot twrp.img.I know that it's nearly not related to UT but I didn't find any tips on XDA and there is more active users here with 3a.
Thanks in advance.

@tchan could you try putting your sim card in another phone? This is to determine if the problem is with your device or with your provider settings.

Thanks for answer,
Of course I have my other phone under UT still working with the same Sim.
Sure there is a problem with themodem.bin
in partition a and b to do cause I done something wrong first, or the phone had never work properly but can't know that now. Thanks

Hi @tchan
When I read your issue, my first thought was the modem might be overheating and shuts down as a failsafe.
Now image issue is still possible but if it's the same with android and with Ubuntu Touch and you did the flashing multiple time then I guess the hardware issue is the more probable. To test my hypothesis you can try to download a relatively large file in 2G, 3G and 4G... as I suspect maybe not all are being handled the same.

Hi,
I think you are right, I didn't managed to download a 600 MB file...
I will retry few things but as you say maybe the modem is dead...Sorry for the late answer.

Hi @tchan
No problem, I'm just happy to help troubleshooting.
Sadly it does not really help fixing the issue but at least you have a better understanding of it. -
@tchan What is it like downloading on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth? What is GPS location like? It could be weak battery.

@MrT10001
Hi,
Actually I retried downloading with 4G and it worked...
Battery looks fine, many days without charging ( android 9 ) but I don't use it.
