Some Confusion about the install requirements
-
@Moem It would simply be more helpful if the porter for these devices hosted the software on GitHub. On the device page, everything is only halfway cobbled together or the links. Ubports will definitely have to admit this in the future. There's not much more to say here before the administrator or the moderator start complaining again. Sorry, but I'm not going to change my stance on Xiaomi. What is the point if you only refer to Android 10 in the instructions, and you download the software, set up the smartphone with UT, and find that the telephony does not work or the call is terminated. The only firmware that works in the global version is 12.0.2.0 Global or EEA. Thanks to the new link that has now been set, you will not immediately find Joyeuse and Co. In my opinion, you have to inform the porter who has to adjust the links and that's it. Otherwise you have to take Xiaomi from the installer or from the supported devices. Everything else is otherwise a lie for the user because there is no support.

@Enrico13011978 I think there is very good help and support here on this community forum, Telegram groups and the websites including GitLab. Sometimes things do take a bit of working out with the way device manufacturers label up their Android ROMs and there is only so much that may be done to help, as the helper is not sat next to you going through the install. There is also a lot of things people can do to help themselves using search engines ( used many a time to work out install errors) and the like to gain some knowledge and get past issues that may arise. There are no lies about the help and support, certainly something's should be clearer, but when people are porting in their spare time, you will get these issues as they have jobs and other priorities in life. Likewise, there are going to be functional bugs, some can be ignored, others may be not - iOS and Android suffer this as well (and I can say Apple support sucks unless you pay).

@MrT10001 I know what you mean, no question. But if you take this company Xiaomi as an example, you're abandoned. There are Android 10 from number 11.xxxx to 12.xxxx among them to find one where the telephony works is a gamble. No wonder if one porter after the other leaves the sinking ship.
-
@Enrico13011978 Look at it this way, all mobile companies orphan their devices at some stage, some sooner than later. Likewise they will update websites, links and so on, so accessing certainly archived software becomes a lot more difficult. XDA Developers forums is huge and is also plagued by dead links and outdated information. You can help if you so wish, by posting here your links and what your experience to get things working was like. Alternatively you can be quite negative and complain which to all is quite unhelpful.
-
@MrT10001 If I could post the relevant firmware links here, I would have done so. Since I always got an error message, I tried this in the installation group via Telegram. But someone has only set a link that is for all devices. You then have to enter the device name yourself and search. I think we will leave it as it is now. I am not complaining and will try to help with new topics about Xiaomi. The worst thing is that if a firmware is blocked in Germany, it can work again in France. This varies from region to region as an example, so this jungle with the firmware is also a disaster.

I quite agree, but unfortunately that is down to the device manufacturer and the device manufacturer following different countries regulations. It is a minefield.

@MrT10001 Yes, that's why I have already found a high quality device page at Droidian which Ubports does not have. Question answered Joyeuse Global 12.0.2.0 simply clear simply good. Ubports so goes smartphone with Droidian!!!!

This seems like a great discussion you are having here. Also great that now there are 3 different versions mentioned that I should install. That really helps clear the confusion....
So I guess I'll start with 12.0.2.0, incrementing until everything works.

Personally I would always follow the advice on the device page first, and if that fails, the advice from @MrT10001 second. I know that he's done many successful installations on many devices and i would trust him blindly in that regard.

@GosuSan the Version 12.0.2.0 QJZMIXM Global Android 10 works 100% with Joyeuse!!! Please take this version. Attention it definitely depends on your region I am from Germany. It's not my fault that Xiaomi sometimes blocks versions of Android 10. The problem is then no telephony. Everything else actually works depending on your needs.
