The current 24.04-1.x/stable doesn't install properly on my 3axl using UBports Installer 0.11.2. it doesn't result in a valid recovery installed on the device. On the reboot to recovery step, I volume-down until it selects recovery mode, then hit the power button. It sits at the Google logo for a while, then reboots and enters the bootloader again with the reason "No valid slot to boot". Trying to get it to enter recovery again results in it entering the bootloader with the reason "error booting boot.img".

Installing 20.04 then OTA upgrading to 24.04 works fine.
The current 24.04-1x/daily DOES install correctly through the ubports-installer however.

While it's fixed on daily, I mention it because it tripped me up a few times on a few reinstalls. I'm hoping daily gets into stable soon!

Thanks for the information! We will look at that when the VoLTE port is finished. The current 24.04 port and the VoLTE port have different Halium backends. This may make a difference on what issues are present, etc.

I can confirm the problem with installation via USB.

                Just another observation:
The Dekko icon mail-counter in Lomiri starter panel does not reset to zero when all mails are read. It just continues adding all mails per day.
However, it can be reset when restarting Lomiri greeter service.

on daily channel, with version 299 update, camera is now working mostly as expected in the sense that it doesn't freeze after taking the dirt picture anymore/show a black screen.

edit: hit or miss, though I was able to take 6 pictures in a row with no issue compared to before.

i have noticed that when you open the camera, it does not autofocus properly, i think this is a bug. camera refocuses after tapping on screen to focus on selected area otherwise.

I missed an update yesterday, but I just updated to daily update 301. Tested the camera and surprisingly it worked every single time I used it, even flipping back from the rear camera back to the front camera. Played with some settings, changed some resolutions etc, took many photos, and the app still worked the entire time even after closing and reopening. Bravo to devs!

Now, if only there was a solid native email application that worked, I would daily drive my pixel 3a XL. So close!

Scrolling improved on daily update 299, I noticed it's not nearly as janky as it was. It's certainly much better, but not quite there yet. Patience!

So far I am pretty impressed with Ubuntu touch, especially on this device. It's very smooth. Thank you to everybody who works on this project.

Yes, thank you to all the developers working on this! That is great news! Also, congrats on this becoming closer to your daily driver!

I know there is still much work to be done on VoLTE, etc. We, as a community, are currently working on this part. Once VoLTE is available, I know that will help make this a daily driver for anyone in any country that mainly focuses on VoLTE support (ex. the United States). I'm eagerly awaiting the day I can use this as a daily driver as well! Fingers crossed we can get this part working soon!

I picked up a Pixel 3aXL just to give Ubuntu touch a try as a more private phone. I finished installing and setting up without too much trouble(once I swapped out the bad cable).

Everything is running well and I'm very impressed so far. I've been an iPhone user for years . but now I'm testing if I can do all my day to day activities with this phone and some different behaviors.(Like carrying my debit card instead of using ApplePay. Having lots of fun:)

Thanks for providing something this slick.

                            Two additional observations:

Mobile data seems to stop working if you toggle WIFI on and then off again. Not certain if it's that action, or if it's a delay, or what. Toggling cell service off and on again fixes it.

My gps interface doesn't seem to be detected.

                            phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ test_gps
                            *** setup signal handler
                            *** get gps interface
*** GPS interface not found :(
                             Bye!

However, I'm not certain if this is a me problem or not. I installed by installing android 9 as directed, then flashed droidian, ran that for a few days, the gps was working. Then flashed UT 20.04, and upgraded to 24.04 through the system menu. I didn't think I would need to re-flash android 9 since droidian and UT both use the same method of getting access to the drivers. I'd like to not have to wipe this thing again to test, but will if I have to. Can anyone else confirm their GPS is working?

Hope this is not caused by my app ( battery-saver). If it is then better to report this feature to the project issue tracker.
I have no issue here on daily when not using it.

@lduboeuf doesn't seem so, I don't have it installed as far as I can tell (from OpenStore)

@VoidItsWarranty my gps works but suffers from the "unable to load right away" issue (takes about 40-50 seconds for GPS to lock onto my location).

(referencing from the pixel 3a xl page, also not device specific: Devices may take longer than usual to get the first GPS fix because of missing Assisted GPS support. - is what I am referring to).
