        Situation:

        • 10-point touchable monitor (4K uperfect) connected by USB-C to UT-Phone
        • detected as external touch device + a external monitor
        • touch events are handled in relative positioning like withe a external mouse
        • missing touch to drag 🤷

        Expectation (feature/wish):

        • touch monitor touch events are handled in absolute coordinates
        • touch to drag
        • play Solitaire on touch monitor

Unfortunately, UT doesn't yet support correctly mapping a second touchscreen display. I already asked this to the Mir developers and they still don't support it in recent versions, at least during that time which was a year or months ago.

I actually discovered that even Gnome has this issue. I only got KDE Plasma to work properly woth 2 touchscreen displays 😅

@kugiigi in my case I would expect more kind of replacement of the phones display. As everything should work like on a tablet. The phone becomes a computer and does not need to power its monitor. Displaying, typing and drag & move and other gestures are handled by the attached external touchscreen. So my idea about this phone -> tablet convergence feature.

Do you run KDE Plasma on Ubuntu Touch? Can you switch between both?

@bekun Yeah that's the ideal functionality. On Android, that works fine, at least on Samsung phones. In UT, all touchscreens are mapped to the built-in display.

I was talking about on the desktops. Gnome have the same issue while KDE Plasma handles it fine.
