Install Fail with Installer

Update: Solved?: Solved itself! This morning tried Uninstaller on win10, with no success, went back to Ubuntu MATE, forced Fast Boot on phone, opened DevMode, Opened Uninstaller, manually selected phone, kept getting message unable to use USB, but the installed simply continued regardless that it wasn't connecting, and I now, by Magic have a 1+1 running Touch. I have a morning headache but the smell of success wafted through air! My sincere thanks to all who took time out to assist as I don't think I could have managed!
Trying to install Touch on a 1+1 with Cyan. and from ubuntu18.
Using ubuntu 18, opened Installer for first time, plugged in 1+1 with cyan., manually selected 1+1 with Wipe, I was advised to press and hold volume up and on/off buttons until reboot started, the screen went blank, I held the two buttons for about 1 minute until my fingers gave out. Phone is still plugged into laptop and screen still blank. Under a few windows there was a message ubuntu 18 had a problem and to send it in for fix. I tried to copy and paste here but that wouldn't happen, it was too long to copy by hand. What do I do now?

Try unplugging the phone ensure the device is off, then hold power and volume up (or down). One will get you to fastboot (volume up) and one will get you to recovery (volume down) from which you can go to fastboot anyway. It will say "Fastboot Mode" on a blank screen if successful.
Once you have reached that mode, then start the installer and plug it in again.

@joe that worked, it's been at flashing Images, recovery and boot about 30 minutes, is that normal, since 7:50pm

This is what I had to do 2 or 3 days ago when I flashed to my Nexus 5 (may be similar problem). The Official installer as a Snap application on Ubuntu 18.04 (Ubuntu Mate 18.04 is what I was using) was STUCK at "flashing images" blah blah, so I had to use the AppImage version. For AppImage I got an error about ADB and checked and I didn't have adb installed on my pc so I installed it and everything worked great!
Also, did you check if you had turned on Developer Mode or whatever it's called in Android first? I'm not a dev really (just play with some stuff in python and other languages) but maybe that could be a problem[?]

I had that issue too. I don't think it should take that long to flash. You might want to abort and try again. Once in a while you have to do that.Download of the image takes some time, but I don't think it should take that long to flash.

Luckily? 1+1 hasn't bricked yet! LOL
I downloaded the SDK zipped file, placed it in a new folder called Android just as they said but after that none of the words or titles they stated were readily seen by me. (I didn't enable dev. mode but will do that now.) This 1+1 has cyan. on it and directions to turn on devmode isn't where they say its at, Sys,AboutPhone, Devmode not seen by me. Ha, Ha, and I thought Ub-Installer was ezpz! LOL! BUT I was able to open DevOptions by tapping repeatedly on; BUILD NUMBER, so I think after thatDevmode is on???WAIT? WHAT!, I see a new message OEM locked, unlock? yes -Yes, I now see green robot 'Erasing'! OMG it might be working! My anus just locked up I'm so anticipating! LMAO! Now, flashing images again. BUT! Phone says Android is starting, optimizing apps!?!? WTF! Finger nails are gone! UbInstaller still says flashing, is it Flashing or is Android starting!?!? Ahhhhhhh sheeeet! Cyanogen OS simply wiped and reload!!! Argghhhhh Frickidy Frack!! I'm wasted mentally, its bedtime, I seelook for any extra help tomorrow! I'm drianed and frustrated, EzPz! my butt!

@mawil1013 Yeah, the Ubports installer is A LOT easier than the old way using the terminal but some problems still happen.
OK, I'm going off of some memory here so bear with me. After the phone wiped itself (though still Android) maybe try in the newly viewable Dev mode or options settings looking for USB debugging. Make sure that's turned on. Now if you (while phone is still turned on and your android home screen open and screen powered on) plug into your computer there should be a new notification about trusting your pc. Say yes and to always trust (if available) then open your Ubports installer. Hopefully the installer will see your phone. If not then click on the right phone manually from the list. Then try flashing (and wiping) and it may (like mine did) automatically reboot the phone into fastboot mode. It should have you put in your Computers password (or at least does on my linux based desktop) and start actually flashing the images. When done with the recovery images it should reboot into recovery mode and start downloading the like 12 part ubuntu image(s). When done it will start pushing to the phone. After that it should reboot and the phone install the OS.
Hopefully this all helps. Also if you still have problems being stuck try like I did and the AppImage version and also install adb (sudo apt install adb if using an Ubuntu OS). That all made it work for me (but I was using Maru OS which is Android 6 based so some of the Android side steps I wrote may be SIMILAR but slightly different). Installing the OS is the biggest step I've found in using Ubuntu Touch so far.
