@los-tioz cannot confirm the issues on my sony xperia, running 24.04-1.3.
Uodate channel is rc, maybe thats the dufference?
Camera and Timezone both working as expected.

@messayisto The update channel. I was using “stable,” but I switched to “release candidate.” At least that solved the time zone issue. Thank you.
However, the problem with the camera still persists.
I’ve been experimenting. If I only use the selfie camera, everything works fine. I can close the app and reopen it, and everything works. But if I take just a single photo with the main camera, the screen stays black after restarting the app. I can switch to the selfie camera, and it continues to work. But I can’t switch back to the main camera. Now the image from the selfie camera is still displayed, it’s just upside down.

are you sure about that ? this issue was reported by @djac and others for 24.04-1.2, so it's rather unlikely that it could be fixed for 24.04-1.3RC and reappear for 24-04-1.3 stable. It's more likely that it is a random problem that don't appear with every restart of the phone.

For the camera, i aldo note (but more rarely) au critical bug, that probably break my first camera : the focus stars to "vibrate" until i shut down the phone (shut the app isn't enough).
This bug doen't reproduce regularly... @los-tioz Did you meet this too ?

@gpatel-fr Yes, I'm absolutely certain. I was using version 24.04-1.3 (stable) and had exactly that problem every time I booted up.
This morning I switched to the rc channel, and the problem no longer occurs. I've shut down and restarted my phone five times. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days, though.

@DJac No. My Focus hasn't vibrated yet.
                  I rarely use my camera

In my experience, these bugs are the two main problems wich prevent me to stay on ubuntu touch with my sony xperia X.
                    So sad....

                      Hi everyone.
I didn't have to wait long to see it. This morning I turned on my phone, and now I'm getting the time zone error on version 24.04-1.3 (rc).
I shut down the phone again to see if the error would occur after a quick restart. Yes, it did.
I would have been surprised myself if the error had only occurred in the stable version. But we’re leaving no stone unturned.

@DJac Both of these issues only started occurring for me after upgrading to version 24.04-1. But I'm sure the developers will find a solution.
Otherwise, I’m satisfied with UT on my Xperia. The only long-standing bug that hasn’t been—or can’t be—fixed is the streak in the main camera’s image when you zoom in too much. It isn’t visible in the photos in the gallery, but you can see it in the video. But as mentioned, this bug has been known for a long time.
