Mutting Alerts Volume
-
I have a question about Alerts Volume - I don't know yet if it's a bug or a feature

Context:
At night, when I mute my phone from the top Volume drop-down menu, calls are muted but not alerts: I can see that in uVolMan.
But I need Alerts also muted - otherwise I will hear Alerts for notifications (from Greenline for example).
In order to do that, instead of switching the mute button in the Volume drop-down menu, I slide to zero the Volume slider in the same menu. Now, if I check in uVolMan, Alerts volume slider is also moved to zero.Question:
Shouldn't mute switch also switch Alerts to mute? -
tested with dekko. I think it's a bug, it don't seem logical that silent mode mutes the rings but not the messages.

Granted, the 'silent mode' is a bit ambiguous, but I think that's not the same problem.
Messages notifications are sound that the phone is initiating without any user interaction, while the Gitlab issue states 'use any app that play some sounds'.
So from the POV of an user that just wants to sleep yet don't want to stop their phone, it's not the same thing.

@gpatel-fr Should I then go ahead and open a new issue?

I don't have the time to search for issues right now, however I just noticed that it's really the same issue as when changing the new message notification sound, it's not active until the next phone restart. If you restart, notifications will be silent in silent mode.
If you disable silent mode, notifications will not use the message notification sound until the phone is restarted.

@gpatel-fr Oh, wow, I would have never thought of checking after a restart...
Let me just link that here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/12289/changing-message-sound-requires-restart
