Issues with sending messages on Pixel 3a XL

When I use the message app, sometimes when I try to send a message (no mms, just a regular message to someone), it takes a while to send, even while I am on LTE. However, while it is still trying to send, I can still receive messages from other people, but if I attempt to send messages, they still will take a while to send. Eventually, they do send, but this is becoming a bit of an issue now.

can you precise your provider and country , and confirm you are on latest OTA of 20.04 ?
I personally have no idea and AFAIK i don't see users having issues recently regarding sms. -

Ah ok, that could explain. i don't know exactly but i've heard issues in US regarding call and sms, maybe by searching T-Mobile or USA in the forum ?
