The Joys of Restarting Part 2.

Re: The joys of restarting......
OK, I have acquired a few of these tablets now some with docks and some without, so I am beginning to see hardware trends in relation to installation, reboot, starting from cold and charging.
-
Some tablets work perfectly until restart after an update and then don't.
-
Batteries appear the same across the devices and all hold charge well.
-
The USB-C port is soldered onto the board, and gets worn out so may either not work at all or give an unstable connection.
This causes issues on install, re-install and charging - I use a dock to charge. I need to send the faulty boards off for USB port replacement, but it is cost prohibitive, until I can get round to practice my soldering skills and do it myself so I can live with that. -
The device reboots randomly if the ambient air temperature gets too warm, i.e above 27 deg C. Leaving it for 20~30 minutes usually resolves.
-
Smashed screens are common on the used devices and don't affect the device in most cases unless the LED gets cracked which is quite rare.
-
Android has boot issues with this device too, but it is far less common than with UT.
-
I cannot at all get the 2Gb/16Gb versions to take UT, it always boot loops.
-
The Power buttons wear out so a new Ribbon cable is required which controls Power and Volume. This can cause a boot loop. I bought in bulk form Aliexpress and have used most of them. You have to ensure you stipulate the TB-X605F or TB-X605L, the TB-X605FC/FL cable will not fit.
-
Two of my tablets took an age to install UT, so patience is a must. With this I mean it hung at a black screen after the Lenovo splash for over 5 minutes and at the UT splash screen it took over 5 minutes again. This raises the question is the eMMC or RAM failing (long term hardware bug) due to getting too warm (I need an Infra Red Thermal imaging camera which are a big expense and I will get one eventually)?
