...yes, indeed, no double-tap2wake for pixel3a in new ota5...
I'm hoping for the future...and will keep my ota4 so far...

          Hi @uwahl

Here is the reason explained by Alfred on why this limitation:
          https://www.youtube.com/live/aVFGtLSE8do?feature=shared&t=2197

So even if Alfred said that it can be done, I wouldn't count on it except if you're willing to do the job yourself or find someone motivated enough to do it.
I cannot recommend that you stay on OTA4 for too long, so maybe wait for 24.04, but that's up to you.

Couldn't it be an option to at least keeping alive the option for that feature? So that interested people could switch it on via commandline with something like: "enable double tap to wake"??

@uwahl That was not an option, no. Even disabled, the presence of the feature, the way it was is what was causing the issue.

@uwahl I agree, big L. They should have just kept it in as an option. There are already enough features missing in the current release. It's always 1 step forward, two steps back.

Please re-read this post explaining why it has been disabled.
I was a double tap to wake user too. But i'm rather happy if it allows other people to have a usable phone.
I don't feel the same. For me the P3a is a great port. very happy with it., what missong features are you talking about ?.

I know Double Tap to wake is disabled in OTA-5, and hope it will be back again in the next upgrade.

Also love to see AOD feature will be available.

I have Pixel 3a XL and it was working perfectly on Android 9.

Unfortunatly no, next OTA will not bring back that feature, the porter haven't find a way to re-enable it without compromising the phone usage for some devices.
