Ubports the Best QualitΓ€t The user is forced to install a certain Android version in order to later have a high-quality Ubuntu Touch in a non-running state. Or the devices are labeled as supported and this is not the case. People, even if it is voluntary, you definitely can't go on like this. It is quite frustrating for the end user to spend hours with half-finished software. Of course it's not bad that there are Ubports but from Focal on you can definitely stop the project! Since you are already working on the next project 24.04 and there are definitely hardly any apps.

@Enrico13011978 How is this helpful to the OP or this thread in general?
-
@arubislander I can explain that to him objectively. Ubports should make sure that you can install Ubuntu Touch without installing Android first, only for listed devices via the installation program. As far as I know, this was definitely possible with older devices. Sorry this is definitely my honest opinion. This is the only way to solve problems such as the failure of WLAN and the like. Let's take another example Volla a high quality product! Well, for 500β¬ I would definitely buy an Android or IOS smartphone. For Ubuntu Touch devices in this effort not 100β¬!

@Enrico13011978 you have made your point of frustration clear, in numerous threads. We cannot legally ship the correct vendor blobs in the installer. This has been explained numerous times in different channels.
The instructions for the Pixel 3a / XL at least work.If a customer is dissatisfied with a Volla devices they should turn to Volla Customer service. The UT community has no influence on the pricing of the Volla devices.
I will move your above two posts to an separate thread, as they have nothing to do with the original question. And I ask you now, to please, stop repeating the same grievances every time you make a post, especially if it has little to do with the question being asked.

@arubislander Everything is fine. There's definitely nothing more for me to add. Above all, I don't need to continue using the software in its current state. For this reason, my point of view is now back to an OS that I can use better for the time being. In 5 years it may look completely different. But no VoLte no WhatsApp only via Emolator - no, that's no good. I only use Telegram because of various other software for Miatool. And to be honest, as far as the original Android 10 is concerned, you can also use Lineage OS 17.1, at least on Miatool. I don't think that would be illegal instead of the original Android. Where there's a will, there's definitely a way to make the installation better. You are welcome to mark the topic as solved as I did not create this.

@Enrico13011978 it is not stated as a question, so there is nothing to mark solved.

Forgive me for asking. But this has occurred a few times already. You try UT, it does not meet your needs, you vent your frustrations repeatedly and indiscriminately, then you leave or are banned. A few months later you come back, seemingly a refried person, but then the cycle repeats itself. So my question is, why? Why do you put yourself through this again and again?

@arubislander You know it's frustrating when you really have to try out different systems. I have been forced by Xiaomi to get rid of the original software. There is a background carousel that constantly locks the screen. Then at some point I found Twrp, and was able to flash wonderfully no more MIUI. Now I'm on Lineage OS 17.1 which in my opinion is really the best deal for Miatool. So many new ports on Android are so full of bugs that Ubuntu Touch is a blessing. I have nothing against Ubuntu Touch, but if you have to download Android gigabyte by gigabyte to see what works and what doesn't, it's frustrating that firmware A runs better than firmware B or firmware C runs stable. Even as an example WLAN Ubuntu Touch only supports 5G. Now I tried a Russian firmware a few days ago and even the 2.4 WLAN worked, the friends were short because the telephony was blocked. These are just such experiences with Xiaomi that are annoying. Then Xenial was much better on Miatoo. l Focal well many things that run with Xenial are no longer available on FM radio. Now on the new port 24.04 not much works yet, not even the terminal. I'll have to see if I'm better off with other hardware. Xiaomi was just great in terms of hardware features. Now I hope you understand me. And other manufacturers don't seem to work so well with UT either. So look around and observe.

How could an alpha release work better than a stable one ?!?
-
@Keneda The alpha version does not work better definitely not. No idea what exactly the translation app has done

Of course it doesn't. It's not finished. The question is, why would you expect it to work better?

@Moem I don't expect Ubuntu Touch to work. It's just about knowing what the current state of affairs is. The problem is that there aren't even any decent browsers in Focal or apps. It's the same here because the system is different. And to use Ubuntu Touch it would definitely be better to have a second device, which I don't have. But I'm not Rockefeller to buy a Volla Phone from 500β¬-700β¬, for example. Xiaomi was already much better in terms of price and hardware back then. Even after 4 years, used Xiaomi devices have become much more expensive than what I paid 120β¬. Current up to 180Euro.
