        Hello,

I've had an old BQ Aquaris 10 FHD in my drawer for years and wanted to reactivate it (it's still on OTA 13) and reinstall Ubuntu Touch.

Unfortunately, the installation process with UBPorts-Installer 0.10.0 is stuck:
Waiting for device, Fastboot is scanning for devices.

I've already read through a few threads on the subject, but so far I haven't found anything that helps.

        I have tried:

        • different cables
        • installing with a Kubuntu 16.04 (yes, outdated) and a MX-Linux 23 (current)
        • running ubports installer with sudo and without sudo

The problem is that fastboot on my machine does not recognize the device (regardless of the installer), even

        fastboot devices

in the terminal returns an empty list.

        Does anyone have any ideas?

That would be great. Thanks πŸ™‚

@kaesestulle if you are on a Windows machine try ./ In front of the command so it is ./fastboot devices.

Thanks, but I'm on Linux machines (Kubuntu 16.04 and MX-Linux 23)

Maybe I should try it with Windows?

@kaesestulle have you tried an elevated command prompt?

                @MrT10001 Thanks.

                Yes, I have tried

                fastboot

                and

                ./fastboot

on Linux with and without admin rights.

In the meantime, I have also tried the ubports installer on Windows. But I have the same problem there.

The tablet is simply not recognised at all.

Is there another way to update the tablet to the newest OTA?

No, not really. The latest supported versions of UT are on 20.04, Focal Fossa. But the BQ devices never got updated past 16.04 Xenial Xerus. So I think you are already at the latest OTA available for your device.

What state is your tablet in at that moment? Is it booted normally, is it in Recovery mode or is it in fastboot mode?

It says here that it goes up to OTA 25.
It's still outdated, but still better than my OTA 13.

I always had it in fastboot mode when I tried it. But it's no problem to exit fastboot mode and then boot normally again.

@kaesestulle, Don't you have to activate the developer mode? Have you done it?
