Can't install ubuntu touch on xiaomi mi6 by ubports
-
@xiaohanys You have unlocked the bootloader?
-
@MrT10001 of course unlocked
-
@xiaohanys How long did you leave it at cleaning up?
-
@MrT10001 Hi, I have left it for more than two hours. Then nothing changed.
-
@xiaohanys OK, have you tried reverting to version 0.10.0 of the installer?
-
@MrT10001 No, if this version is available, I can try it tonight.
-
@MrT10001 the problem is still same. and the log is also same as before.
-
@xiaohanys Ok, you have tried another USB cable and a different port? I haven't had a problem installing on this device. It looks to me from here the bootloader is not unlocked.
-
@MrT10001 The sign of unlocked is significant because we can see an unlock icon on top of the screen every time when we restart our phone. And we can also see whether the phone is locked or not in developer mode. So I can confirm my phone is unlocked.
I also try two different USB cables and also try the front and back ports on my PC. It didn't work at all
.
And I also saw the same issue on GitHub such as https://github.com/ubports/ubports-installer/issues/3968

@xiaohanys If you know what you are doing and have a strategy to recover the device if it goes wrong there is something to try:
-
Download and run TWRP through fastboot.
-
In TWRP recovery format DATA to EXT4 and wipe cache and system.
-
Reboot to the bootloader (fastboot).
-
Run the UT installer again, this time select the device from the drop down box.
ONLY do this if you know what you are doing and can re-install Android if need be and DO NOT relock the bootloader. You will lose all data.
