        POCO X3 NFC running 20.04

        Hi,
Just moved from EE (UK) to Lebara UK (piggy backs on vodaphone) and I have an issue with sending SMS. Previously on the EE network sending SMS was fine.

Now I have to switch off Volte (4g) manually in order to send SMS. If I don't it waits for 30 seconds or so and then indicates that the send operation failed.

I have tried the new sim in an iphone6 and it worked sending SMS with 4G enabled.

I obviously cannot get any sense out of Lebara as when I mention using UT they think I'm a Martian.

Just to reiterate, everything works except sending SMS. It doesn't matter whether wifi or cellular data are switched on or not; Volte has to be off in order to send SMS; receiving is no problem.

        Any suggestions are welcome.

        Thank you

          Hi @Jules

Have you tried to reset your APNs in System Settings?

@Eric-H Yes,I did all of those kind of things, even using the standard Vodaphone settings and nothing worked. As far as I know, SMS doesn't use APN settings anyway. I've even used another Vodaphone sim and that worked so it's definitely a Lebara issue.

Thank you for your advice, though.

All I can suggest is first to send an SMS and then look in the logs if you see something that can help us understand what's going on.

              journalctl -u ofono.service -r --no-hostname

This is a workaround that I have been trying for a little while.
Try constructing the message then switching airplane mode on then off before sending.
I read something similar on another post and it seems to work for me so far.
