desktop mode flickering on Ubunut 24
-
Hi,
is there a fix on flickering Desktop mode on Ubuntu 24 latest image? I tested with USB hub and the USB screen with other devices too and it flickers only with my fairphone 4 with Ubuntu 24.

@enki Which channel are you on when did you last update?
-
@kugiigi i am on version 883. However I more or less solved it. I use the Anker 565 USB hub which is probably the best in the world as it has 11 in 1 features. On the other hand I had to figure out the best way for connecting to the external screen. The optimal solution is that I use separate USB-C power supply to the external screen and for the Anker Hub, this way the flickering seems to be gone or lot less frequent.
We can consider it solved, but others should test too if they have the same Anker Hub

@enki so would you say that it was the screen not getting enough power from the hub?
-
@projectmoon yep , looks like that was the story

i have just re-tested the whole setup, sadly it still flickering. If i connect the external screen directly to the phone then there is no flickering however i need the Hub because i need keyboard and mouse. So it is looks like the Anker causing the issue with the Ubuntu touch. But with other laptops the Anker works fine.

i connected the very same Hub, the same way to a Linux Mint laptop, no flickering, works perfectly.
The laptop runs this:
uname -a
Linux lenovo 6.14.0-36-generic #36~24.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Oct 15 15:45:17 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
