Hi, I recently picked up a second-hand Tab M10 2nd Edition, but it seems to have a different model number from the X606. So I assume that UBports is not going to work with it, but just wanted to double-check before giving up and sticking with Android.

I haven't been able to find anything that actually explains the difference between the various model numbers and whether the chipsets are compatible.

It would be great if someone could confirm definitely will work/definitely won't work/might work but if not you can just reinstall Android/might work but might brick the device.

        Here are the details:
        Model: Lenovo TB-X606F
        Android Version: 10
        Build Number: TB-X606F_S301068_23-010
        RAM/ROM 4/64GB
        CPU: MediaTek Helio P22T TabOcta-core 2.3G
        Display: 1920x1200

        Thanks in advance!

@LobsterDarts There is a community port for the TB-X606, look on the forum under the Lenovo section. There are some prerequisites which you have to do and can be a bit challenging if they don't work.
As for the version, F is WiFi only, X is LTE and WiFi.

If you do try to install UT on this tablet, not everything works, so read through the forum and have a return to Android strategy.

@MrT10001 Thanks. I looked through the forums and don't see it the model listed as a port subtopic, only a number of threads which talk about attempts to install with varying success.

It looks like I would need to downgrade from Android 10 to Android 9, then install Ubuntu.

However, given there are some posts saying the downgrade bricked the device, and lots saying that it didn't work properly, and some saying that the port is now dead, it doesn't seem like something that's a good idea for me to try, so I will unfortunately need to stick with Android.

Seems like I'm not the only one to have bought a device matching the "2nd Gen" description then discovered it's not the right model number. A shame.

@LobsterDarts Yeah, I have bricked two TB-X606's trying to downgrade (both have working, but broken screens, so no loss). Have recovered one, but I wouldn't advise this port as it is too easy to brick the device....

If you want a good UT experience with a tablet that is not expensive get a TB-X306F or TB-X306X and get the 4Gb/64Gb version. There are issues, but that is like all the UT devices, they have their quirks!
