      Good evening everybody
I have questions about adaptors for convergence of Nexus 5 (16.04) to start that experiment with the right equipment. I stumbled across a recommendation the other day but now I donยดt find it anymore...
Can I use any micro-USB (male) to HDMI (female) adapter or do I have to be picky? (edit: does it have to be HDMI?)
Are there any combined adaptors available that include also USB female for e.g. keyboard or will keys always be connected via bluetooth?
Can anyone recommend a specific type or brand or setup of adaptor for that task?
      regards!

You must use a SlimPort adapter with Nexus 5. Just any adapter will not work. Unfortunately you cannot have combined adapters on Nexus 5. Only newer phones that support SlimPort and have USB-C will be able to do both.

So you will need to connect keyboard/mouse via Bluetooth.

Another option for the display is to use Miracast instead, but I am not sure if it works well on Nexus 5 yet. Then you could (would need to) use USB keyboard/mouse.

https://slimportconnect.com/ has a list of adapters and devices which support the standard.

Definitely get an on-brand slimport adapter- I started with an offbranch one and it did not work.

Also, remember to pick up a decent bluetooth mouse / keyboard as well!

@joe The world of adapters is a really weird one if you spend some time in it ... of course I do not know for sure but something like that could be worth a try to get from HDMI to VGA...
(I just ordered a slimport-adaptor that looks almost like yours but with female HDMI...)

Cool. I'll check that out thanks. Good luck with the adapter that you ordered!

Also, bluetooth keyboard and mouse are important ๐Ÿ˜ฎ . Some work better than others. Anyone have recommendations?

                    I use these:
Logitech Keyboard - But it's quite heavy and not great to type on. It' connects well though.

Ultrathin Mouse - Looks expensive but you can find better deals. Light mouse, and looks good.

@joe funny enough I just ordered exactly this keyboard (quertz thouh). I like the slot-idea.
And from my experience whether you like a keyboard or not (or the typing respectively) is a very personal and subjective matter... so weยดll see how it works for me. I did not want to spend too much for my beginners equipment...

@joe The description next to the mouse claims it's for Windows 8. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
