Ubports Touch on my M10 FHD

      Hi Ronnie,

is the UBports running on your M10 FHD?
I also have the M10 FHD and tried today flashing it, but it's not working. I tried via commandline by:
      sudo ubuntu-device-flash --server=https://system-image.ubports.com/ touch --channel=ubports-touch/legacy --bootstrap --recovery-image=./recovery-frieza.img
      But no success.
At the end I got this screen for hours: https://img4.picload.org/image/riacglii/grafik.png
See bottom left "Installing Ubuntu update"
If I choose reboot manually after 15 min. it's rebooting to install Ubuntu 15.04 OTA-15

If I use the Magic-Device-Tool, it's the same

      Alex

        hi mr tucker

        i had a performance-question.
the bq m10 has 2 gb ram.
so in personal-pc' its ok for running and working with libre-office. what is your work- expierience with libre-office on the m10 on ubuntu touch?
is it ok or freeze/ slow down by normal working?

I don't see the Open Store in Ubports Touch. Should I install it myself, or will that affect currently installed apps?
@dada - I have the Ubports Touch on my M10 FHD and the 'Desktop Apps' scope lists LibreOffice, GIMP, Firefox, etc.

That is the stock canonical image. The UBports image is not shipped with X Apps, but with the openstore.

@NeoTheThird then some is definitely awry.

              I ran the command:
sudo ubuntu-device-flash --server=https://system-image.ubports.com/ touch --channel=ubports-touch/legacy --bootstrap --recovery-image=[Downloaded adb recovery image]

Using the recovery image from Ubports which did wipe my device, but now I seem to be, sure enough, back at OTA15.

              What the... o_O

Thought: should I have wiped the cache etc when installing the recovery image?

This is weird. Others were experiencing issues with the FHD as well, let me talk to @mariogrip and try to figure this out... You don't happen to have the terminal output of the flashing process at hand, do you?

                  @NeoTheThird I don't I'm afraid.

I'm trying to flash it again. I've wiped the cache before flashing this time, but I think I might end up the same as @WLBI as I can see the dreaded 'Installing Ubuntu update' in yellow at the bottom of the screen.

I'll keep the terminal logs this time though.

After several minutes I reboot and I'm back in OTA15. Weird!

Is there someone that want to help us test our new images?

Hi, I did a little bit more testing on the mx4. With v2 I have the issue that my WLAN connection "freezes". That means indicator still shows connected WLAN, but the mx4 is not able to receive anything. I need to switch flight mode on/off. After that it works again for some time. There is no switching between different WLANs / SSID / Hotspots. I just have a single access point.

Can anyone else confirm this issue?

                      Thanks

Decided to try the magic-device-tool to see if that'd make any difference. Nope!

Have just updated both bq 5hd and m10 with the latest Ubuntu update r3 and r5. All went well and seems OK. Just for my info in case I missed it somewhere. On the m10 there are no apps showing in the x app scope. I take it this is correct. Can these be installed from elsewhere yet? If so how.
As for people having issues flashing the m10 I used the magic device tool on both of mine. On the m10 it did hang for quit awhile half way through before completing through to the cleaning up bye bye message. Then it took quite along time to reboot itself out of recovery. Don't know if this helps anyone but it did take a lot longer than the 5hd. So long in fact I was begin to think there might be an issue, and yes there is a bug that delays the start up of the tablet buts far thats all I've found.

@ronnietucker mine seemed to take ages before it started up again with I think a spinning Ubuntu symbol then took ages to actually start up properly. Can't remember exactly how long but I did wander off for abit came back still nothing then it started up. I know this is vague but it could have been 25 muns or so.

                                in Terminal:

                                $ adb shell "df -h"
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
                                tmpfs 981.1M 36.0K 981.0M 0% /dev
                                tmpfs 981.1M 12.0K 981.0M 0% /tmp
                                /dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/userdata
                                9.3G 76.2M 9.2G 1% /data
                                /dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/system
                                3.8G 3.7G 52.4M 99% /cache

                                see cache was 99% full
                                now it is:

                                $ adb shell "df -h"
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
                                tmpfs 981.1M 36.0K 981.0M 0% /dev
                                tmpfs 981.1M 12.0K 981.0M 0% /tmp
                                /dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/userdata
                                9.3G 76.2M 9.2G 1% /data
                                /dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/system
                                3.8G 8.1M 3.8G 0% /cache

                                That was done by:

                                adb shell "make_ext4fs /dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/system"
                                adb reboot recovery
                                adb reboot bootloader

Just updating device status. Already reported on Launchpad.

                                  Device: LG Nexus 5 hammerhead.

System image: Legacy / version 15.

                                  Issues:

                                  1.date/time reset after reboot.(2-26-1970).
                                  2.battery marks half of it's real capacity, (50% = 100%, 40% = 80%, etc).
3.display only wake up if power button is pressed 3 times.
4.can't play any videos using media player.

                                  Everything else works ok.
                                  Thanks.
