Anyone got hands on with the Nexus 5 X running ubuntu touch?
If so, does every thing run smooth? Does everything work?

I don't think the Nexus 5X (codenamed "bullhead") is a supported device of UBports. Here's the list of supported devices: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/

Apparently people can try to build their own Halium ports for any device, but that's way beyond my (and, I'm guessing, most people's) capabilities: https://docs.halium.org/en/latest/

Anyway, I've not heard of anyone having Ubuntu Touch on a Nexus 5X.

I believe Dalton was working on it some months back (he had it in one of the QA streams and indicated it was rather difficult to work with). Honestly, just based on the specs it's not much of an improvement over the Nexus 5. Personally, I'm looking at getting the OnePlus 3T- seems like decent specs, more recent, and there's active work being done on porting it to UT.

A few people have tried so far, but no one was successful. It basically boots but then somehow keeps crashing the display environment (unity8) - I am afraid we will never get there.
