@peat_psuwit I would really love to be able to have OTA update on my FP2 running that port. Is there anything I can do to help you make it official?
@peat_psuwit you didn't answer to that, but as all work deserves a salary as we say in french, I precise I'm willing to pay you $100 to see 7.1 based port released as the official port for the FP2.
-
@Fla We're working towards that goal, but the base system requires more changes to support Halium 7.1 ports better before we can release any Halium 7.1 port as an official port.
-
@Luksus I just flashed it, I'll tell you if everything is fine

So, I asked in the last Q&A what was the status of the core changes still needed for Halium 7.1 ports and the answer was:
Actually it has progressed very well and is effectively now βdoneβ. The issues remaining are likely to be device specific. On Xperia X for example there are Bluetooth problems. We suggest you try it out with a Fairphone 2 and send in some test reports. Rachanan has a pretty good overview on it.
So... Here I am again ^^ What's the next step to see that port an official one, and how can I help you reach that state?

The biggest issue currently is that the phone tends to reboot itself when trying to power it off. The issue has been traced to be related to the Android container. However, I haven't looked into it further.
Other than that, there are some other issues I can't remember off the top of my head. There's also the USB mode issue, but that I prefer a more proper solution than the one currently implemented in other ports.

Its also that current classic builds for the core devices allow adb next to MTP mode, and hotspot is a big issue. Speakerphone might not work, etc. So when we would deliver it as it is now, many people would feel a regression probably. Sorry to say, it needs more time and hands to finish that.
Same goes for OPO and N5.

I was not asking to publish it now, just what are the next steps and if I can help (by being a tester, mainly).

That happened on stock ROM as well. IIRC it was fixed at some point. Until then, the workaround was to enable the torch before shutting down (no kidding!).

@Ingo yep I confirm that.
