Do I need to select developer mode to install Ubuntu Touch?
-
Ive been using Ubuntu for since 2006 and started on Red Hat before that. I really appreciate the great software.
Anyway, Ive bought a Nexus 5 on ebay.
Thought I followed the install instructions but I've missed the 'Enable developer mode' step, and flashed Touch onto the phone.
How do I get around this?
(I'm not concerned about losing data)
Thanks

@certain Do you have a running UT on your N5 at this moment?
-
No it shows the installing updates screen then goes blank. I havent been asked for a password or code
-
@certain https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/install.html Maybe this helps.
-
@certain Have you tried to redo the installation once again and if yes, what did it said? "installing updates" message is from Android or UT?
-
Its from UT.
Then blank.
Thanks but I checked the docs and could not find the answer.
Ive tried about 20x to install it. I'm sure there is a way to do it.

@certain I know for sure that somebody had the same problem and I think they had to go back to Android and start the process again. I don't want to talk nonsense, just give me 5 min to go to my PC and look for it.

Appreciated

I kept playing with it an finally chose the 'power off' choice.
Its turned off and on and it entered the UT set up.
So it is possible to install without selecting developer mode.
Thanks again for the input

@certain Nothing to thank for. Come back if you face other issues. If solved, could you please mark your post as a "question" and then "solved"? You can do this at your first post, where the Reply button is, bit to the right at "Topic tools". Thanks!
