For smartphones currently is it only on Android and IOS? Or do other alternatives support it (among others, with a less intrusive alternative to google play services)?

Does Ubuntu (or another Linux variant) support it if the laptop has hardware support?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Does Chrome provide fingerprint sensor integration on Windows or macOS? Do banks provide native applications on either of them? Biometric identification in what sense?
